Poetry Slam with Meta Sarmiento curated by Alya Howe

January 19 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$8

Meta Sarmiento is a Filipino poet & rapper from Guam and currently lives in Denver CO. Meta is a National Poetry Slam semi-finalist, a TEDx speaker, and winner of Spoken Word for the World 2015. His latest collection of poems, “Tie Your Shoes Kid”, explores themes of cultural identity, love, loss, and healing. Slam Poetry is a super fun participatory evening, a competition where people read their poems. After performing, they receive scores from 5 randomly selected judges. The judges can be anyone: they don’t need to be poets!  Scores are awarded based on how much each judge likes a poem and you!
